Electrical Thermographic Surveys

An electrical thermographic survey will show a number of faults including but not limited to the following

  • Damage/Failing components
  • Overloaded circuits
  • Unbalanced loads
  • Bad/loose connections

All of the above will cause damage, production downtime, expensive repairs but most importantly can cause FIRE.

A regular thermographic survey of the following equipment types should be carried out

  • Consumer units
  • Fuse boards
  • Distribution boards
  • UPS & battery systems
  • Switchgear
  • Electrical/electronic components
  • Control & automation circuitry
  • High, medium & low voltage systems
  • Partial discharge
  • Busbars/buslines
  • Electrical connections
  • Defective Solar Panels

The survey is carried out when the power is still on so no interruption will be occur.

Prior to all surveys done a risk assessment will be provided along with a method statement explaining how the survey will be carried out safely and efficiently.

All Surveyors are electrically qualified including HV Management (SAP) and COMPEX.

Nearly everything gets hot before it fails, making infrared thermography an extremely cost-effective and valuable diagnostic tool for use in many diverse applications.
